Your Pests. Our Problem.

What We Do About Ants

What type of ants are bothering you—“Bloody Ants,” “Rotten Mongrel Ants,” or the old favourite, “Damn Ants”? The Sunshine Coast is full of them, and if it feels like you've tried everything, you’re not alone.

At Shark Pest Control, we don’t muck around. Our team knows how to knock ants out where it counts: at the source. From Big Headed Ants and Ghost Ants to the ones that travel in armies from houses away, we’ve seen them—and we’ve stopped them.

We don’t use gimmicks like “ant cafés” or sprinkle sands that wash away after a day of rain. Instead, we blanket spray with a safe, non-odour product ants walk through without realising. Then, like an unknowing Trojan horse, they carry it straight back to the nest. One by one, they pass it on until it reaches the queen—and then that’s all she wrote. It usually takes one to two days and rarely up to a week but the results will amaze you.

This a proven method that we have used interstate for over a decade and now have brought it to the Sunshine Coast as this is our home now. And no, we won’t bore you with technical names—you just want the ants gone, and that’s exactly what we do.

Spider Control – Keep It Simple

Webbing Spiders
We target redbacks, daddy long legs, house spiders, and more with a full-coverage spray—not just the “low spray, spot spray” that many pest controllers do. We treat high and low areas, entry points, and external surfaces using our “ghost buster” system. This kills existing webbing spiders and prevents new ones for up to 12 months in dry, unwashed areas—proven over thousands of homes.

Non-Webbing Spiders
These include huntsmans and garden spiders. They don’t build webs, so treatments take longer as they touch the product briefly. You may still see the odd one—especially in spring—but we eliminate any inside your home during treatment, leaving you with fewer visitors.

Treatment Extras
We also apply powder in roof voids (if accessible) and window tracks to stop breeding and entry. Combined internal and external treatments mean no webbing spiders and far fewer non-webbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does pest control last?

To give you peace of mind, we offer a 12-month warranty on cockroaches, spiders, ants, and silverfish. Regular treatments also help interrupt pest breeding cycles and minimise the chance of future infestations.

  • What pests are included in general pest control?

General pest control usually covers the most common indoor and outdoor pests, such as cockroaches, ants, silverfish, and spiders. It may also include pest prevention around entry points and problem zones like skirting boards, window frames, and roof voids. More specific pests like termites, rodents, bed bugs, or German cockroaches usually require separate, targeted treatments.

  • Can I clean my house after a pest control treatment?

Yes, but it’s best to wait at least 24 hours before doing a deep clean. Light cleaning (like wiping down benches or sweeping) is generally fine after a few hours, but avoid mopping floors or washing treated areas too soon—this can remove the pest control product and reduce its effectiveness. Your pest technician will usually give you post-treatment care tips, so be sure to ask for any special instructions tailored to your home.
